Dr. Biehl has a doctor of philosophy degree (Ph.D.) from Kent State University in Counseling and Human Development Services. In addition, Dr. Biehl earned a Master’s degree in Library Science from Emory University in Atlanta , Georgia , and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University . Her work with clients at NEOBH is conducted under the clinical supervision of Patricia Seifert, Ph.D., PCC.
Dr. Biehl is severely hard of hearing and is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). Her areas of specialization include therapeutic work with both children and adults who have physical disabilities. Dr. Biehl takes a particular interest in the provision of counseling services for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or visually impaired. She is also skilled in the area of clinical work with individuals who demonstrate language and speech problems, including those diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorders, developmental delays, or Selective Mutism.
Prior to joining the staff of NEOBH, Dr. Biehl was employed with the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission for eleven years. During this experience, she was additionally exposed to work with individuals who suffer from visual impairment.
In addition to her work with NEOBH, Dr. Biehl is a part-time adjunct faculty member at Stark State University in the Social Sciences program.
