Ms. Boatright was awarded a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and Rehabilitation from Marshall University in 1991, and was independently licensed as a Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) in 1993. Ms. Boatright has engaged in clinical experiences within a variety of different settings, including outpatient mental health, intensive home-based treatment, family reunification services, and specialized/therapeutic foster care systems. She has trained, supervised and mentored clinicians, and has developed her own clinical materials for use in group and individual treatment with children living in foster care environments. Ms. Boatright is particularly proficient in consultation and intervention with children/adolescents in long-term foster care arrangements and planned permanent living arrangements with non-parent relatives. She has provided training to clinicians and foster parents regarding the needs of children in alternative home environments. Ms. Boatright has frequently provided court testimony in connection with her recommendations for children involved in the foster system.
Ms. Boatright’s work at NEOBH has tapped her areas of expertise, and has permitted her to expand her strong interest in treatment services for children and adolescents that are victims of trauma. Ms. Boatright is a professional artist, and has utilized these gifts in her clinical work with clients. She has successfully authored and implemented grant-funded programs designed to utilize artistic modalities as a means of self-expression for trauma victims.
