Ms. DeLillo-Storey was awarded a master’s degree in counseling from
Malone
College
in 2001. She is currently a Doctoral candidate at Southern California University for Professional Studies.
In addition to her independent licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC), Ms. DeLillo-Storey is a Board-Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress, and has received certification as a Trauma and Loss Consultant and Supervisor. She has a wide variety of experience and advanced training in trauma-specific treatment interventions, including Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, disaster mental health services, advanced art interventions, and therapeutic interventions designed to alleviate the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Ms. DeLillo-Storey’s previous employment experiences included pastoral care counseling in a hospital setting, alcohol-drug counseling within a short-term intervention program, and clinical work within an outpatient facility devoted to trauma and loss counseling. She has also engaged in extensive volunteer services within the community, related to her strong interest in advocacy for victims of trauma.
Ms. DeLillo-Storey is a founding member of the Stark County Traumatized Child Task Force, and was instrumental in providing education and insight for the Stark County Family Court toward the development of the Task Force.
From 1981 until March 2004, Ms. DeLillo-Storey was a member of the United States Army, and was Honorably Retired after working in Medical Logistics, Plans and Operations and Personnel Management. Her experiences within war zones have added to her understanding of the effects of traumatic loss and other traumatic experiences. Thus, Ms. DeLillo-Storey has particular interest and expertise in the provision of mental health interventions for members of the military returning from combat. Her consultation work in the area of Critical Incident Stress Debriefing has been utilized by hospital emergency rooms, and other situations involving groups of people that have been exposed to traumatic events.
Ms. DeLillo-Storey has conducted numerous seminars related to grief and trauma interventions. Her audiences have included nurses, hospice workers, hospital staff members, speech pathologists, special education teachers, foster parents, and adoption case managers.
