Kimberly A. Eckberg, P.C.

Ms. Eckberg is a 2008 graduate of Malone College, and earned a Masters Degree in Education, with an emphasis in Community Counseling. She additionally attended the University of Akron, and in 1999, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders/Speech Pathology & Audiology. Ms. Eckberg gained subsequent work experience as a Supervisor of Behavior Support for the Stark County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and has held positions with organizations that have focused on the care and support of clients with various types of developmental problems.

Ms. Eckberg has received advanced training in more than one area of clinical specialization. She has attended both Basic and Advanced training programs in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and currently trains others in the appropriate use of this Evidence-Based Treatment technique. DBT is considered a Best Practice technique for clients with mental health problems that contribute to emotional dysregulation, and is advocated as particularly effective with clients that present with Borderline Personality Disorder as well as those who demonstrate self-injurious behaviors.

Ms. Eckberg also received Sex Offender Specialist Certification from Ohio State University, and is proficient in approaches useful to assist this clinical population. She has conducted trainings related to the care, treatment and behavioral management of sexual offenders who are developmentally disabled.

Ms. Eckberg currently holds a Professional Counselor License has completed coursework toward independent licensure as a Professional Clinical Counselor by the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. She is currently supervised in her work at NEOBH by Gail Mager, M.Ed, PCC-S.
