Ms. Lewis is a 1999 graduate of the
University
of
Akron
, and was awarded at Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.) from the Community Counseling Program. She was licensed as an Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor in 1993, and achieved Licensed Social Worker (LSW) status the same year. Ms. Lewis currently works under the periodic clinical supervision of Patricia Seifert, Ph.D., PCC.
Ms. Lewis is proficient in the provision of counseling services for a wide variety of mental health concerns. She has a particular interest in counseling services for minority men, women and children. Ms. Lewis has additional expertise in crisis intervention, and utilizes a brief therapy approach in her counseling practice.
In addition to her work at NEOBH, Ms. Lewis is employed as a program administrator at Oriana House, a community based correctional facility. Within that setting, Ms. Lewis has facilitated stress and anger management groups, as well as support groups designed for the needs of chemically dependent men and women.
Ms. Lewis has strong interest in women’s issues, and has successfully worked with women involved in domestically violent and dependent relationships. She has also worked with families in conflict from a variety of ethnic and economic backgrounds.
